Peach Jam is a 5 track album of original instrumental music by prolific British musician Mike Ross which takes inspiration from the musical styles of the Allman Brothers Band, specifically the ’71 Fillmore’ iteration. The title track is 15 minutes of pure joyful abandon which describes in music a journey from Atlanta GA down to Sarasota FL with representative changes in groove and feel marking the route. Grace is a sparkling acoustical romp through a traditional churchy melody while Galadrielle pays a moving tribute to Duane Allmans daughter in four emotional and transcendent movements. Derek & Me is a poignant acoustic requiem for Mike’s departed father Derek, unique in delivery yet somehow conjuring up shades of Duane's Little Martha. Rounding out the set (and the only track to feature vocals) is a reverentially rendered re-record of Free’s ‘Don’t Say You Love Me’ which is included by way of acknowledgement of the ‘northern kin’ of Free singer Paul Rodgers who, like Mike, originates from the North East of England. Mike says.....

“I've been an Allman's devotee since I first heard their 1971 live album 'At Fillmore East' as a teenager so I'm really proud and excited to release a record which I feel comes close in spirit and intention to their seminal work while still allowing me to express myself authentically and uniquely”

The whole album simply oozes southern fried goodness – sparkling twin guitars weave in harmony, vying for attention atop a tasty gumbo of gritty organ, rumbling bass & pounding drums. A startlingly original yet soothingly authentic work.
